The NATS4 Content Adtool type lets you upload a collection of images, videos, or both as a .zip file to be used by affiliates helping to promote your site. The media uploaded to these .zip files will then have an affiliate linkcode added to them, in order to track statistics.

Uploading New Content

You can upload new images or videos to be used as downloadable content through the Adtools Admin. To do so, simply go to the Adtools Admin, scroll down to the "Content Types" adtool category, and click the "View Adtools" action icon next to the "Content" adtool type.

The Content Types Adtools Category

On the next page, you will see a section labeled "New Content Adtool." Use the available "Content Zip" field to add a .zip file with your desired content in it; you can upload a file from your hard drive, or input a URL to the .zip file in this field.

Adding a New Content Set in NATS

Once you have selected a file to use for your downloadable content, you can define all the other available settings for your content. These settings include:

  • Name - The name of your content set.
  • Type - Choose if your content consists of pictures, videos, or both.
  • Enabled on - Choose a site (or all sites) that you want this content to be enabled for.
  • Publish Date - Input what date you want this content to be available from.
  • Default Group - Select an adtool group to categorize the gallery under.

Once you have defined all of the available fields, click "Add Adtool" to add your new Content set to NATS.

Your new Content will now appear in the "Content Adtool" table, along with your other available content sets. This table provides you with the adtool ID number, name, type, and default group of each content set.

Displaying a Content Set

Before you can include your new Content set on one of your sites, you must first add a "SHOW" rule. To do so, click on the "Add a new rule" action icon next to your new content. On the next page, simply add a "SHOW" type rule for the affiliate(s), program(s), and site(s) you want this content to be enabled for. You can also choose to enable this content for all affiliates, programs, and sites. For more information on rules in NATS4, please see our NATS4 Rules wiki article.

Adding a Rule For Your Content

Once you create a "SHOW" rule for your new image content, affiliates will be able to grab the linkcode for that content through their Ad Tools page.
