Using JW Player

The JW Player is a popular and freely available flash player. It is fairly simple to set up, and has a considerable amount of advanced features that make the player stand out. It is now possible to seek through flash videos when using JW Player. However, this is only possible on JW Player version 5.0 or higher.

Download JW Player

Before Using JW Player In your CARMA installation you will first need to download and set up the files on your CARMA server.

You can download the JW Player from http://www.jwplayer.com/.

Once you've downloaded the file, unzip its contents and upload the following files to the root directory of CARMA:

jwplayer.flash.swf
jwplayer.js

Once copied to your server create symbolic links of these files to your sites_scripts and tour_scripts directories: From the root CARMA directory run the commands:

ln -s ../jwplayer.flash.swf site_scripts/
ln -s ../jwplayer.flash.swf tour_scripts/
ln -s ../jwplayer.js site_scripts/
ln -s ../jwplayer.js tour_scripts/

NOTE: If you have your member area or tour area set up with symbolic links to the individual files in site_scripts or tour_scripts, instead of the folder, then you will also need to set up a symbolic link for these files as well.
