If your website falls under both token and membership types site:

CREATE BOTH TOKEN AND MEMBERSHIP SITES IN YOUR SITES ADMIN-

You initially have to create an "Extended Sale." This will allow you to track your "free members" in NATS. *(Before you can set up extended sales, Too Much Media must install the Extended Sales Module on your system.)* (http://wiki.toomuchmedia.com/index.php/Extended_Sales)

Your Extended Sale will be direceted to your token site NOT your membership site. Now when you set up your membership site, you will want to configure it to be hidden from your affiliates so that all traffic is directed to the token site.

While a member is on your token site, you will want to provide and option to become a "full/premium" member which will redirect them towards the "hidden" membership site. This can be done in your token site setup in NATS (http://wiki.toomuchmedia.com/index.php/Token_Sites)

In order to keep track of who sent the customers signing up for full membership, you must use the Strack feature which will identify the affiliate associated with the new member. (http://wiki.toomuchmedia.com/index.php/NATS4_track_and_strack) This will allow you to use the same member record in NATS for each token purchase made by the user. You can then pass the same username/e-mail combination to the Membership Site when the user wishes to purchase the Premium Membership.

To ensure that the usernames are unique across the sites, you will want to set your configuration: http://wiki.toomuchmedia.com/index.php/UNIQUE_MEMBER_NAMES The UNIQUE_USERNAMES setting should be set to "Joinform (allow matching emails)" in the Surfer Section of the Configuration Admin: admin_config.php?tab=surfer This will allow you to have the same username used for both the Token and Membership Sites and ensure that the username is not used by another member.
