== What is IDV? ==

'''IDV System''' is a new form of payment offered by ClearCard, which can be used as an alternate method to process a transaction if a [[Ct#Surfer|surfer's]] credit card is declined by the [[Ct#Biller|biller]]. A [[Ct#Surfer|surfer]] processing a transaction using IDVsystem can receive a loan for the purchase price of a membership, allowing them to register as a [[Ct#Member|member]] even if their credit card is not accepted. 

When processing transactions through IDVsystem, the [[Ct#Program Owner|program owner]] for that [[Ct#Site|site]] gets paid for the [[Ct#Surfer|surfer's]] initial click to IDVsystem, then receives the rest of the membership cost when the [[Ct#Surfer|surfer]] repays the loan.

In order for the [[Ct#Surfer|surfer]] to receive the loan, however, they must first get authenticated by IDVsystem's database. This can be done by providing extra information fields on the [[Ct#Join Form|join form]] that are required for the [[Ct#Surfer|surfer]] to fill out.

These additional required fields are ''firstname, lastname, email, address1, address2, zip, city, country'', and ''state''. Make sure that these fields are required on your [[Ct#Site|site's]] [[Ct#Join Form|join form]], otherwise [[Ct#Surfer|surfers]] will not be able to be authenticated by ClearCard.

== Setting Up on ClearCard's Website ==

Before you can begin setting up ClearCard IDV as one of your [[Ct#Biller|billers]], you must first sign up for a merchant account with them. You can do this through their website at http://stats.clearcard.com/solutions/Application. On ClearCard's signup form, select ''IDVSystem'' from the "Start Accepting" choices and fill in the rest of your required information. 

When registering with ClearCard, make sure to take down the username, site IDs, and merchant IDs that they provide for you. Without this information, you will not be able to set up ClearCard in [[NATS]].

To begin setting up ClearCard IDV in [[NATS4]], go to the [[NATS4 Billers Admin|Billers Admin]]. Scroll down to the "Setup New Biller" drop-down menu, select ClearCard IDV, and click "Add."

Fill in your ClearCard IDV username when prompted, and click Save (this step is optional). If you were not provided with the requested information, please contact your [[Ct#Biller|biller]].

=== Sites Admin ===

Next, go to the [[NATS4 Sites Admin]], create or edit a [[Ct#Tour|tour]], and scroll down to the "Biller Details" section. Enter your ClearCard IDV Site ID(s) here -- ClearCard assigns each [[Ct#Site|site]] that you added its own unique ID, which must be obtained from their website. You can find your Site ID on your ClearCard "My Account -- My Websites" page, listed under Options on ClearCard's site. Fill in your Site ID(s) and click Save.

Once you have done this, scroll down to the section labeled "Join Options for this Tour," and click the "Edit Option Details for this tour" section that corresponds to the [[Ct#Join Option|join option]] you wish to use. In the "Biller Codes" section, locate the ClearCard IDV Merchant ID fields. ClearCard assigns each pricing option that you set up a unique Merchant ID, which again must be obtained from their website. You can find this on your ClearCard "My Account -- Membership Plans" page. Fill in your Biller Code, and click Save.

=== Instant Upgrades ===

ClearCard IDV also supports the usage of Instant Upgrades to upgrade the status of a [[Ct#Member|member]] in [[NATS]]. Before you can begin add instant upgrade functionality to [[NATS]], however, you must first set it up with your [[Ct#Biller|biller]].

Once you have set up instant upgrade functionality with ClearCard IDV, create a link in [[NATS]] as follows:

Replace ''<linkdomain>'' in the above example with the [[Ct#Link Domain|linkdomain]] for your [[Ct#Site|site]]. Replace ''<siteid>'' with your chosen [[Ct#Site|site's]] ID number. Replace ''<username>'' with the upgrading [[Ct#Member|member's]] username. Once you have configured instant upgrade functionality in [[NATS]], [[Ct#Member|members]] will be automatically upgraded when clicking that link.

=== Discount Memberships (Cancel Offers) ===

ClearCard IDV supports Discount Memberships, which provides [[Ct#Member|members]] with discounted price offers when they attempt to [[Ct#Cancel|cancel]] their membership. This feature must be configured with your [[Ct#Biller|biller]] -- for more information about offering Discount Memberships for your [[Ct#Site|site(s)]], please contact ClearCard.

=== Flat Amount Sales ===

If you wish to create a separate [[Ct#Join Option|join option]] that allows you to offer a flat rate charge for [[Ct#Member|members]] through ClearCard IDV, go to the [[NATS4 Billers Admin|Billers Admin]], edit the [[Ct#Site|site]] you want to offer the flat amount sale for, and create a new [[Ct#Join Option|join option]].
